Project Name: Unseen Lithuania
Description: Unseen Lithuania is an award
winning collection of gorgeous aerial photographs from all
over the Baltic nation of Lithuania, produced in 6 different
language versions. Unseen Lithuania Millennium Edition is
a hardback book with dust cover, 4 gatefolds, a silk covered
box with Lenticular faceplate, holographic stickers and
a purpose built corrugated mailer box. Extensive color retouching
was executed to photographs using ICC Color profiles to
match the printed image to the original experience of the
photography. CPS also proposed and designed the VIP version
silk box, a detachable product registration mailer form,
wrote a code to generate 55,000 unique serial numbers and
designed a custom corrugated mailer box.
Key Challenges: In order to achieve the
sharpest, most vivid high quality print available, a line
screen of 280 lpi, imported paper and 5 color spot varnish
printing were used. Several rounds of proofing were required
and constant press checks were conducted at every stage
of production to maintain color consistency and top quality.
An anti scratch lamination was used to minimize cover scratches.
Techniques Used: 5 color offset printing, Spot
varnishing, high line screen, color profile management,
variable printing, gravure printing, machine scoring and
perforation, case binding, silk ribbon, hand assembly. |
